This is a real feel good news story 40 Billion Heirs are to give away at least 50% (some have pledged more)of their personal wealth to charity.
I’m not from America so a lot of the generous people who have joined the pledge to give half there wealth to charity I’ve never heard of, but I think this is fantastic!
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet think fellow US billionaires should donate most of their vast fortune to charity and at least 40 American Billion Heirs agree with them.
The Giving Pledge charity is the brainchild of Microsoft’s Bill Gates and investment guru Warren Buffet, they started their plight by working their way through Fortune magazine’s list of 400 US billionaires, Warren Says “We probably called somewhere between 70 and 80 people on the Forbes list” 40 Billion Heirs have signed up to Buffet and Gates ethos.
No group decisions on how the money will be spent or when, Instead club members of the Giving Pledge are to set an example by funding philanthropic pet projects, which I think is the best way. I’m an hands on person and if I was one of the Lucky few who had wealth I would like to be in control of where that money would be spent.
This news story lifted my spirits and gave me hope in the human soul, after reading several articles about this news story I was taken aback by the negative comments from US citizens.
I’ve always had the opinion that if you have worked hard for your success then you are entitled to the wealth and to use it as you see fit. Unfortunately more often than not the cynicism of human nature means wealth just ends up in bank accounts gathering dust while greedy in-laws wait for you to pop your clogs, so the money can go into their bank accounts gathering dust.
The mistrust in our fellow man means we all protect ourselves from being taken advantage of by others, but if you look at little closer you will find a diamond in the rough you just have to look, get to know someone you might other wise walk past and I’m not talking about just people with plenty of money but all people, if you open your heart you could find a friend.
There’s only so much a person can spend, so I think The Giving Pledge is a wonderful idea.
Some have accused the 40 Billion Heirs that this is just a PR stunt to make them feel good, Who Cares! they should be recognised publicly for what they are doing to help others, I’d happily wear their names on a T-Shirt 
The Giving Pledge should inspire the generous in our society.
Better Late than never I say and to repeat the best quote I’ve ever heard (that sent tingles down my spin) remember ” Every Sinner has a Future, Every Saint has a Past”.
