Was listening to some classical music when me and my hubby got to talking about our favourite classical music and my hubby mentioned he got into classical music from watching Bugs Bunny cartoons when he was a child.

We got to reminiscing about our favourite Warner Brothers Cartoons when we remembered the Rabbit of Seville was one of our favourite cartoons as children.

We also loved Ride of the Valkyries with Elmer Fudd singing Kill Da Wabbit, but I couldn’t find a video on line to put on my website :-(

Were huge fans of Animation from Warner Brothers to modern day movies like Shrek, but I have to say Cartoon today are rubbish compared to the simple cartoons from Warner in the 1950′s which are hilarious.

I’ve cried with laughter and pulled my stomach muscles from laughing while watching the old classics like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry :-)

Films today have lost there way, no longer is a concept simple in that Bugs Bunny runs into a film studio and A leads to B, instead present day cartoon have to explain ever little thing that’s happening which takes away spontaneity which is crutial in comedy.

We can’t have violence today either so no more slap stick in case kids happen to find an anvil and drop it on their little brothers head.

There’s also the problem that they have made the animation industry to commercial, so instead of getting a professional to do the voice overs of the cartoon character you get some Actor/Actress who has as much talent as a wet kipper, there rubbish! I do wish they would stop using actors who have as much talent as wood when it comes to reading and changing their voice to make a cartoon character more believable.

A few are OK at voices and do a good job like Nicolas Cage who did the voice of the mole in G-force and Minnie Driver who did a great voice over for Jane in Walt Disney’s Tarzan, but generally actors are as dull as old socks.

Those are the times I guess, but hopefully this generation will still be able to laugh and appreciate the genius that was Warner Brothers. Hey the Warner Brothers Cartoon like Bugs Bunny was way before my time and I hold them dear.
