We went for a day out to Rigsby Wood to see the bluebells, first time we’ve been.
The sun was out it wasn’t to hot or to cold just perfect Goldilocks weather of just right.
Rigsby wood was filled with lots of wild flowers
We have been having a fantastic spring so far in England the weather has been so hot we’ve been able to trade in our winter coats for bathing suits :) this time last year it was snowing in some parts of the UK
Spring has come early to our little island in the North Sea and the flowers are loving it.
Rigsby wood is a lovely quite wood set back away from the main road, the floor was covered in Bluebell we could hear plenty of birds, but we only caught fleeting glimpses.
There was a little pond the smallest I have seen in a wood of this size yet it had hundreds of tadpoles in it, I’ve never seen so many tadpoles in my life.
They where all swimming close to the surface and in one area they were swarming close to the edge of the pond was just one teeming mass of black wriggling tadpoles.
There was also lots of swarms of some little red things couldn’t get a good look at them they were to small, but there was several clumps of them swimming around together in a sort of school, there must have been thousands of them with in each mass.
Rigsby wood is a wonderful peaceful place for a walk and I would recommend it to anyone who loves getting out and about in the great outdoors for a couple of hours in Lincolnshire.
Had a orange tipped butterfly fly past me, I went running after it which it’s easy when you have a bum as big as mine :) I didn’t get the photograph but there’s still plenty of time left yet.
I got some nice photographs of our day out to Rigsby wood and I’m definitely going back again Soon
