I collected some pieces of drift wood while out for a walk with my son on the beach, as well as some other bits and bobs like shells, feathers and empty snail shells.
After looking at them for a while they inspired me to create some drift wood art and I made an owl out of the natural bits and pieces.
I’ve never made anything out of drift wood before.
I found it difficult to glue the natural materials onto the wood and a few times they fell off, I ended up using a all purpose glue that is used by builders.
I hope it stays stuck
I enjoy making things, it is very therapeutic for me when I need an escape or a distraction from the world for a while and it gives me a good feeling when my art work is complete.
I’ve put the drift wood Owl in a pot on my kitchen window and I’ve planted some seeds in the soil at the bottom of my sculpture, so I will be able to look forward to some flowers in the future
