Motocross Skegness Beach AMCA Event
I’ve just finished my second video of the pictures I took at the AMCA beach race in Skegness.
It took me ages to make
My hubby put a smile on my face with a piece of flattery, he said my images makes the AMCA motocross look more exciting than it actually was
What can I say I’m a natural when it comes to photography
Fantasy Island Halloween Extravaganza
We went to a fireworks display at the theme park Fantasy Island in Skegness, we got two free firework displays straight after the fireworks at Fantasy Island Butlins let there’s off which was awesome, I Love Fireworks.
While we were at Fantasy Island we decided to take long exposure photographs of the rides.
I made a video of all the long exposure pictures we’ve done so far.
We had everything against us when we got to Fantasy Island the rides were closed for the fireworks, then they opened up again but to our surprise very few of the rides had lights on them, the roller coaster was in total darkness which was a bummer, my hubby got a bad back from standing around and then it started to rain.
Picasso Head – Celebrate Picasso’s Birthday 25th October
Head over to picassohead.com and create your own work of art in true Picasso style.
I created my own Picasso head, I’m rather proud of it
on the website you can’t colour in your artwork which sucks, so what I did was I created a Picasso head and then took a screen shot of my art and then coloured it in using open canvas, but you can also us paint shop pro.
Go have some fun indulging in mastering some vintage art in the style of the great Picasso at picassohead.com
Burning Wire Wool Long Exposure Photography
Spent the evening playing around with long exposure photography with the family, my hubby and son did the spinning I was happy behind the camera on this occasion
Our son singed his head a little
, I have no idea how he managed it since we went out with every piece of our skin covered wearing balaclavas, gloves, goggles the works.
It’s an easy photography project to do and the results are stunning, anyone can achieve burning wire wool photography using a digital camera that allows you to take long exposure images.
I’m using a Fuji Fine pix HS20 EXR this camera is rubbish yet I still got some good images.
Light Photography
Had an awesome family time doing light photography on the beach at around 10pm, time just flew by and we ended up going home at passed midnight.
We had loads of fun and as a bonus while the camera was processing the pictures we got to look up at a starry sky and watch shooting stars
light photography was a lot harder than it seemed, taking the pictures is easy once you have your camera preset before you head out, but the drawing, boy that was hard!
You would think it was a piece of cake but since you can’t see what your drawing it’s really disorientating.
Lina Eriksson – Skegness SO Festival
I got loads of pictures of Lina Eriksson’s work, I think it’s galleries worth
, picking which pictures was the best was hard and I’m sure I’ve missed some.
Lina created three large triangles of art that was featured on tower garden in Skegness during the SO Festival, it was a lot of fun for me experimenting different angles to take photographs of Lina’s Art work.
Each triangle had a mass of images drawn on them, my hubby and son counted over 30 animals on one triangle, that wasn’t including any pictures of people, flowers or shapes etc…
Stranglings Mariners – Street Artists During Skegness SO Festival
I do like Street Artists
It’s a shame I’m going to have to wait a full 12 month before I see anything else in Skegness, Skeg only has one Festival a year
These maritime seamen paraded slowly through Skegness during the SO Festival, they would take a few slow paces and then stop and stand still like statues.
The lady in the white coat, in the picture I took, stopped and asked if they where real she hadn’t seen them moving
The reactions of the crowd to something like the strangling can be more interesting to photograph than the main performance, so I concentrate on the crowd as much as the performance and trying out different angles to take a shot
Jon Legge’s Camera Obscura – At Skegness SO Festival 2011
There was lots of art on display to see during the Skegness SO Festival, one of our favourites was Jon Legge’s camera obscura.
We had never seen anything like it before, I got some great photographs of our son and Jon the creator
.
The camera obscura was cool!
At the end of the pier was a brightly painted shed in pink and purple stripes, but the real fun was when you went inside.
On first inspection it was an empty shed with a large white panel along one side, Jon Legge closed the door and we were plunged into darkness except for a hole in the side of the shed where Jon placed a lens and before our eyes the Skegness Beach was displayed on the large white panel opposite complete with rotating Ferris wheel.
Levity II Architects of Air at Skegness SO Festival
I’m enjoying the SO Festival at Skegness
Went into Levity II this morning, it was awesome.
I had been looking forward to Levity II coming to Skegness, I wasn’t disappointed.
Levity looks like a giant bouncy castle on the outside, but it’s actually an inflatable maze filled with different chambers of light where soothing music is played inside, a great place where you can sit and chill while the world goes on around you.
Levity II has a lovely atmosphere, we had a great time relaxing and bathing in the illuminated light. Levity is a great art installation, it’s a bit like being in the body of a whale, but more pleasant
St Basil’s Cathedral 450th Anniversary
I’ve always loved this building, it’s one of the best landmarks in the world, it’s full of colour and I find it to be a confident structure which dominates and stands tall in the the Russian capital Moscow.
I particularly love the flamboyant nature of this fantastic cathedral, I wish in England we had a monument this fantastical, when I was a child St Basil’s cathedral always reminded me of the candy house in the fairytale Hansel and Gretal, there’s something so magical and breath taking about this great piece of architecture that fires the imagination.
Folklore says that Ivan the Terrible, who had the cathedral built, blinded all the architects so they could never build anything like it again.
