Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day
Grab your wellies and splash in a puddle, for today is step in a puddle and splash your friend day (11 Jan)
I love this holiday means we as a family can have fun splashing in puddles, but I looked outside this morning and there wasn’t any puddles to splash in, OH NO!
We are having a really warm winter here in the UK, it’s January and I’m still just wearing a jumper for our late night walks, the UK was privileged with an Indian Summer in 2011 which has resulted in temperatures in the winter resembling those of early spring. Which is Awesome but no good for Step in a puddle and splash your friends day.
National Science Fiction Day
It was National Science Fiction Day on the 2nd January, but who cares this one celebrated that can be any time of the year, so sit back and snuggle up on the sofa and watch some great sci fi movies together.
Doesn’t matter if you fancy a new or old science fiction film it’s up to you, you can either catch up on the latest block buster at the movies or sit back and enjoy an old favorite at home.
We grabbed the popcorn and watched the British film Paul an alien encounter of the funny kind for our celebration of National Science Fiction Day starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost
London’s New Year Eve Fireworks – Happy New Year
Happy New Year
OMG the London’s New Years Eve Fireworks were tremendous!
The BBC filmed it perfectly.
The music was Brilliant! nice and modern celebrating to the world what we do best and what makes us number one in the world our music industry.
Zoomed out camera angles means we got to see the whole display. Nothing more irritating then missing all the action because there to zoomed in to close.
Really liked that they didn’t concentrate on the crowd this year. I hate it when they show people in the crowd.
When you have a 10 minute firework display looking at the crowd is so annoying if you was there you wouldn’t be looking at the crowd so why show them to us.
Fun Things to do in December – The Month of Christmas!
Yay the month of Christmas is finally here
I’ve took the liberty to designate December to be Pantomime Month since in the England, at least, it is a must at Christmas Time to put yourself and your family through the worst experience you have ever endured and laugh at the amateur retelling of a fairy story.
All together now in your best Panto Voices “He’s Behind You!”
I’ve included some Youtube videos so everyone where ever their from can feel the pain erm…. I mean festive spirit of British pantomime

Guy Fawkes Night Also Known as Bonfire Night
Happy Bonfire Night
For all those who are unfamiliar with what Bonfire Night is, it’s an English Celebration that happens every year on 5th November to commemorate the failed terrorist plot to blow up the houses of parliament in 1605 by Guy Fawkes.
Guy Fawkes came to a bitter end when he was burned to death for his treasonous act in trying to kill the King.
Every year on the 5th of November people make bonfires in their back yards or go to organised events.
It’s the tradition to burn an effigy of either Guy Fawkes or of someone who might not be popular like politicians on top of your bonfire, but very few people still burn a Guy on there bonfires anymore, some still do and if you go to a organised bonfire then there is usually one on top.
