Pancake Day – Shrove Tuesday – Pancake Recipe
Happy Pancake Day, I hope you’ve been enjoying your Pancakes
This year I’m taking a break and Were having Store brought pancakes this year.
I’m not being lazy I over did it by following my hubby on an 8 mile walk across the English Countryside and I’m feeling a little delicate today, I don’t think I’ve walked that far since I was a teen, neither has he
So I’ve put my frying pan away for today, but for all you traditionalists here is a pancake recipe for Pancake Day by Delia Smith.
Pancake Recipe
Ingredients
4oz plain flour, sifted
pinch of salt
2 eggs
7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water
2oz butter
Prawn and Cocktail Sandwich
Just discovered I like prawns
I’ve spent the last 35 years avoiding them because I thought I didn’t like them.
I had them in a prawn coleslaw a few years back and didn’t like it.
My son wanted to try a Prawn and Cocktail Sandwich, he convinced me to give it a go and buy some prawns from the supermarket.
My son made the sauce to go in the sandwich and it was delicious .
Ingredients
Good Quality pan bread
Prawns (we used cold water prawns)
Cucumber cubed
1 tbs Mayonnaise
2-3 tbs Tomato Ketchup
Lemon Juice
1. Make the Sauce by simply combining the mayonnaise and tomato ketchup together in a bowl.
Sausage and Onions on Cinnamon Bagel with Fresh Mango
Came up with a weird meal combination today.
I was just throwing every thing I could find on a plate and it came out quite well.
I’d defrosted some sausage, the mango’s needed eating , the bagels needed using and I had an onion that had been sat in the vegetable basket for two weeks, so I stuck them all together.
My Husband and Son were cracking Jokes when they first saw their dinner, but I had the last laugh they both enjoyed it.
Ingredients
Serves Three
3 small Mango
6 Sausages
one large onion
Sugar
3 Cinnamon and Raisen Bagels
Butter for frying
Golden Syrup

Orange and Cinnamon French Toast – Eggy Bread Recipe
My Hubby loves French Toast and since it was raining all day today I decided to cook him up a batch of Cinnamon and Orange French Toast, made him really happy
.
He always eats to many then feels sick afterwards, but after 20 years together I’ve given up trying to tell him not to eat so much, I tried refusing to make him more than three, but he just goes and makes some more himself, there’s no reasoning with him when it comes to french toast
.
Ingredients
Bread (it’s up to you how many)
eggs (1 for every two slices)
1/4 of a cup of milk
orange zest from 1 orange
oranges 1 for each person
cinnamon 1 teaspoon
sugar
oil for frying

Method
1. Cube the butter and rub into the flour until it resembles Bread Crumbs.
Twining Rose Garden Tea
Like all good Brits I love a cup of tea (or a cuppa/brew as it’s known to use
)
I’ve Just discovered a new tea from twining called Rose Garden and it is delicious
It has a beautiful rose aroma and tastes like Turkish delight which I love, I’ve been snuggling up every evening with a cup of Twining Rose Garden since I brought it home from the shop, but it’s a limited addition so I’m off out today to see if there’s any left in the shop, so I can stock up on this wonderful tea before it’s removed from the shelves.
New Year Day Dinner : Beef and Yorkshire Puddings
I made the family a beef dinner and it came out nice and juicy, usually my beef comes out the oven as tough as old boots
, we didn’t have anything fancy with it, just served the beef with mash potatoes, veg and Yorkshire Puddings, if your not from the U.K you might not know what Yorkshire puddings are?
Basically you make up a pancake batter a little thicker than you would for pancakes and bake them in the oven. I’ve included a photograph and a recipe in case you would like to try them, that’s not me in the picture it’s just some bloke off the Internet
