Good Memories

My son just called me from school to tell me it’s snowing outside.

Brightened my day and made me cry with happiness, it means so much to me to know he saw snow and thought of me (I’m welling up again as I type ).

Something small that happened to brighten your day is what this blog is all about,

the little things in life that make us smile and my sons phone call did that and some one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me, I’m so happy.

Was out shopping and spotted Pudsey Bear outside Greg the Bakers raising money for children in need.

Popped across the road and had our pictures took with the lovable children in need mascot, Pudsey.

It cheered me up, I was out shopping for clothes and shoes for my son, nothing worse than shoe shopping, in fact I hate shopping full stop, I know unusual behaviour for a woman .

Seeing Pudsey Bear made my day

Just came home from our walk on a fun high

My hubby came up with a great game to play while we were on our usual daily walk, he suggested singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall but with a twist just before you get to the next set of bottles to sing you have to think of an action to do.

Example: take it in turns to sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, knock one off and what have you got (do an action like hope on one foot) 98 bottles of beer on the wall. Then the next person sings there line 98 Bottle …..

I love Halloween it’s my favourite time of the year but this year I thought I had to miss out.

I had loads of plans for a fun filled week but I have caught a cold and I sprained my neck, shoulder, back and arm by sleeping funny, so there is was to be no pumpkin carving, dancing or fun of any description for me this year

I was really upset at the idea of doing nothing for halloween, all the fun I had planned would have to wait for another year, but my hubby came to the rescue and took me out for a slow walk around town dressed in our halloween costumes

We saw a cute little mouse the other night while we where out for a late walk.

It was windy with leaves flying every where, has we walk though the high street my hubby spotted the sweet little mouse with lovely big eyes, big ears and a cute button nose, he first thought it was a leaf blowing in the wind.

It ran in front of us and then ran along the edge of the shop fronts, to our surprise it slipped through a tiny hole in the solid metal security gate and went inside Sports Direct?

Maybe it needed some new trainers

Hope you like my cartoon mouse it took me ages to draw with my son’s Wacom tablet,shhh don’t tell him I used it!

We got attacked by a crab after saving it’s life no less

We’re having an Indian Summer in the UK with temperatures reaching 28 degrees, so what do you do with blue skies and hot summer sun? You head to the beach

We spotted a seagull throw a crab into the air, hubby saw where it dropped so he rushed off into the sea to find it.

It was in a fighting mood after almost becoming a seagulls dinner, hubby had found his match I think

The Moon was full and had left a long silvery carpet across the surface of the sea, shining like a beacon it pulled us towards it across the soft sand and down too the shoreline.

There we stood taking in the moons glory, a big wave crashed onto the beach which made my hubby jump as the menacing sound rang out into the darkness. With only the light of the moon to guide us we walked along the edge of the water, our footsteps sank into the dark black sand beneath our feet as we moved along.

I’ve never seen this before a frog eating a worm.

He was in the middle of the path at our local park, I found him by almost stepping on him.

He was sat up with is head up looking straight ahead with the worm wriggling in the frogs mouth.

At first I thought the frog might have bitten off more than he could chew and had died, it didn’t blink once while we were watching it.

Then it swallowed the worm in a few gulps and bounded off.

Totally awesome

Forgot my camera again though arrr!, I left it at home because hey there’s never anything to film at night and then boom the day I stop taking it with me is the day a frog sits dead still in front of me eating a worm.

Had a great day yesterday

I went out with my son and took loads of pictures at a leisurely pace which was really nice for me since I usually have to go with my hubby whom can’t hang around to much, he’s a busy man .

It kept raining in Sunny Old Skeg, so we had to keep popping into arcades to get out of the rain which was ‘terrible’ ‘honest’

I loved every minute of it, we went bowling, scores were 78, 95 son won, had a couple of games of snooker son won both games, noticing a pattern here

Had a game of hoops in the arcade scores were 50, 152… I won, Booyah!

We were on a midnight walk walking down south parade when the Illuminations came on

They were testing them for the illuminations switch on in preparation for this Saturday and we got to see them.

It was like they came on especially for us, one minute we were walking with the street lights blurring orange the next we were bathed in multicoloured lights, it was awesome

There’s some new Illumination down on South Parade there really nice, so do yourself a favour and go on an Skegness Illuminations walk with the kids it’ll be a great evening of family fun, I think I’ll get some video this year of the Lights around Skeg.
