Muntjac Deer Photograph at Last
It might be a picture of a muntjac deers bum, but I got a photograph at last
I got a picture of Bambi
A sweet baby Muntjac deer.
Poor little thing rolled out of a bush onto the path in front of us after being knocked over by his mum when she ran off away from us.
I managed to take the shot while it was startled and disorientated looking for it’s mum, Don’t worry she was right behind him on the path in the undergrowth they both ran off together.
We saw a baby rabbit or hare again lying still on the path verge at Gibraltar in the video my hubby waves his hand over the top of the rabbit to show how close it was to us.
Mistle Thrush Chicks in Nest
Was on a simple walk around town and spotted these mistle thrush chicks and their mother in a tree near our home.
How cute
you have to be careful with thrushes if they feel threatened or you get to close they will attack you by bombing you, so I was lucky to get away with taking this picture, she was watching me though.
I’ve included some other picture I took that day on my walk for you t enjoy.
Interesting Night at Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve Skegness
OK where to start
Heard our first Cuckoo at Gibraltar in Skegness on the 29th April 2011 which is a big deal since Cuckoo numbers are declining, it’s rare to hear a cuckoo in some places in the UK, so it was a thrill to hear one at Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve
Heard a tawny owl in the distance, but we only heard the male, no female as yet. We heard him a couple of weeks ago but only the twoo and not the twit which is the female call, so whenever you hear the twit twoo it’s both a female and male tawny owls calling in response to each other.
Baby Rabbits or Hares Hiding in Plain Sight at Gibraltar Point
Cool!
We was walking in the dark back to our car at Gibraltar point nature reserve when we passed what we thought was two huge lumps of poo on closer inspection they where two baby rabbits in the middle of the path
Got a great photo!
I found a pheasant feather on that walk and saw a Muntjac deer with her baby aww
First time we’ve ever seen a baby deer so sweet, we got a really good view as the baby deer ran passed us on the path
Great Night.
Good Deed for the Day
We helped a young couple who had got their car stuck in the sand on Skegness beach
It was a foggy night and they had accidentally drove onto the sand and got stuck.
We had gone out for our usual beach walk when they flagged us down to see if my hubby could help try and push the car out, but my hubby has recently had a back operation to fuse his spine so he couldn’t help push the car.
They were well and truly dug in good and proper
Mother Duck with 16 Baby Duckling in Skegness
Spotted a proud mother duck who has a brood of 16 baby ducklings
wow she’ll be busy, rather her than me
Their so cute trying to get in and out of the water aww!
I hope this mother ducks babies survives.
Don’t pay attention to the state of the Water the baby ducks are swimming and eating in, it’s a shame but Skegness councils (there are 3 of them) don’t give a monkeys about the boating lake and it’s filled with rubbish
That’s true I’m sure of most areas around the UK in an era of austerity.
They would rather sack a maintenance guy/gal rather than risk councilors getting their big wages and personal privileges for their business within the town reduced.
Baby Water Vole on Embankment at Gibraltar Nature Reserve
Everyone loves cute and furry creatures watch my video of a baby water vole.
Saw the Water Vole again at Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, our son’s keen eyes saw it first this time. I was to busy trying to figure out if a lump of brown stuff was poo or an Owl pellet so I had my head down
I never spot anything interesting it’s always my hubby who seems to see things first.
I’ve been to Specsavers but it hasn’t made any difference LOL
Took some more pictures and got some decent-ish video of the water vole doing it’s thing.
Enjoy!
Collared Doves Nest on Traffic Lights
The things you spot when your out and about
We haven’t been into Skegness Town Center for a few week, we’re avoiding the zombie tourists
We was passing through the high street and spotted a dove had built a nest on top of the traffic lights, she was sat on what I thought would be an egg, but it’s a baby dove
As I was taking the photo a little head popped out from under mum for a quick glimpse and I managed to take a picture just in time before mum covered him up again.
Fantastic Wildlife Weekend
I’ve had a wonderful weekend.
Spent the last two days walking around Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve in Skegness and we saw a baby water vole on an embankment and I got some good photographs
We watch the baby water vole for a good 15 minutes before we carried on walking and left him to his dinner.
Had a close encounter with a sky lark, us and several other walkers on the path had a sky lark fly around us and in front of us it’s the first time I’ve ever had a good view of a Sky lark normally their several feet above us in the sky this one was at eye level.
Mothers Day Tulips
My son is ill today, so instead of putting my feet up on Mothers Day I’ve been run off them bringing him hot water bottles, cups of Ribena, putting on DVDs for him to watch and making sure he’s cared for.
I managed a quick glimpse outside inbetween fetching things for my son, it was a lovely sunny day and I spotted my Tulips (which I’ve been waiting well over a week to open) have opened today on Mothers Day, so Mothers day hasn’t turned out so bad after all for me
Last Year Mother Nature gave me the gift of my crocus’s opening on mothers day, this year she gave me Tulips
