Granny Turismo – Skegness SO Festival
Seen and done so much this weekend during the SO Festival, there was music and art throughout the town in Skegness.
We saw big fireworks displays and got a taste of some of the acts that will be on in the opening ceremony for the London Olympics 2012, but for me the smaller acts was the gems of the SO Festival.
My favourite performance of this years SO Festival had to be Granny Turismo, three grannies driving around town on segways, disguised as giant shopping trolleys
Their little show was so much fun, I was lucky enough to be at the front of the crowd, smack bang in the middle for Granny Turismo’s show.
Levity II Architects of Air at Skegness SO Festival
I’m enjoying the SO Festival at Skegness
Went into Levity II this morning, it was awesome.
I had been looking forward to Levity II coming to Skegness, I wasn’t disappointed.
Levity looks like a giant bouncy castle on the outside, but it’s actually an inflatable maze filled with different chambers of light where soothing music is played inside, a great place where you can sit and chill while the world goes on around you.
Levity II has a lovely atmosphere, we had a great time relaxing and bathing in the illuminated light. Levity is a great art installation, it’s a bit like being in the body of a whale, but more pleasant
Murder Mystery Night at The Village Church Farm Skegness
We had an awesome time at a murder mystery night, the theme was Hawaiian so we all went dressed up in hawaiian outfits.
We had a fantastic time, I opened my curtains up to a miserable rainy day this morning, but I was still on a high from last night and was feeling happy and Hawaiian
We’ve never been to a murder mystery night before so we didn’t know what to expect, we thought it would be a sort of a party and we would be watching the local theatre group do a play, but it was us who was a character in the murder mystery which was wicked, I love joining in
.
One Night Of Queen Skegness – 2011 Review
We Will ‘ROCK YOU’ and One Night of Queen certainly did
Fecking Awesome, I love this band!
We went last year to see One Night Of Queen in Skegness and this year it was even better, more lighting, different songs then last year, totally awesome!
I was dancing all night, shaking my thing especially to Fat Bottom Girls
I have to say this is my favourite Queen tribute band, as soon as the lead singer steps on stage he as the crowd clapping along, his banter with the crowd is fantastic, very funny.
I wasn’t that much into Queen before I went to see One Night Of Queen last year, now I can sing some of the songs word for word without realising I’m doing it.
Day Out in Skegness and at Rigsby Wood
I had a great day today, I’m exhausted but happy
I love living in a seaside town every day is like a holiday, there’s always something to do.
My son and I spent the day on the park playing football, mum was on a roll oh yeah!
I managed to keep the ball under control while playing footy tennis, you’d be surprised how good you can get at football being a mum to just boys.
We ate our doughnuts on the park to celebrate doughnut day and went to the arcade in Skegness and blew some money on two games of hoops and a couple of goes on a motor bike game
Bluebells at Rigsby Wood Alford Lincolnshire
We went for a day out to Rigsby Wood to see the bluebells, first time we’ve been.
The sun was out it wasn’t to hot or to cold just perfect Goldilocks weather of just right.
Rigsby wood was filled with lots of wild flowers
We have been having a fantastic spring so far in England the weather has been so hot we’ve been able to trade in our winter coats for bathing suits
this time last year it was snowing in some parts of the UK
Spring has come early to our little island in the North Sea and the flowers are loving it.
Bon Jovi Experience – Bon Jovi Tribute Band Review 2011
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome
I’m here to spread the word Bon Jovi Experience is the best tribute band ever!
Totally Electric! as close as you can get to the real thing.
My favourite by far
I thought it wasn’t possible but they where even better than last year!
Loved every minute of it, Bon Jovi Experience is a close as you get to Bon Jovi. The band is amazing not one note missed they play ever riff and beat exactly the same as the original songs, their all amazing.
I’ve been to many tribute bands and many of the musicians miss out difficult notes making the experience a bit flat at times with Bon Jovi Experience you have no such fears the music is spot on.
Folk Band The ChurchFitters
Went to see a folk band with a difference called the ChurchFitters this week.
I like to experience different things that I wouldn’t normally do, expand your mind and all that
, so we pop along to a churchfitter gig.
I enjoyed it a lot and I’ll definitely see them again if they come back to Lincolnshire.
Churchfitters is a little different from your traditional folk band with an Irish guitar player who’s into rock and a French base player that used to be in a punk band amongst others. Each of the member bring their own unique aspect to the music.
The Chuchfitters produce their own songs as well as Traditional Folk Music, so their all unique and fun.
AMCA Motorcross on Skegness Beach – Winter Festival
I went to a Motocross rally yesterday and got some really good photos of all the action on Skegness Beach.
The weather was sunny and warm (ish
) which was surprising since here in the UK we’ve been having some bad cold weather.
5 degrees Celsius is better than any minus number when your stood on a open exposed beach
The AMCA had made a massive track on Skegness Beach with sand humps which covered the whole beach from the Skegness RNLI Life Boat Station under the pier up to X-Site Skate Park.
When the bikes roared under the pier you could feel the boards vibrate under your feet.
Michael Jackson Tribute Concert – Who’s Bad
We went to see a Who’s Bad Michael Jackson Tribute band, second time we’ve seen it this year.
They are fantastic a real high energy band ever single one them can dance not just the two lead singers.
The trumpet player has to be the best he’s got cool and is a wicked dancer as well as playing a mean trumpet.
usually when you see a tribute band they just stand and sing, Not at the Who’s Bad show there dancing all night long.
This time round we got a projection screen in the background with Michael Jackson videos playing and two fantastic dancers that added pizzazz that danced with the lead singers, made the show more professional and enjoyable.
