Yesterday was Elmo’s birthday so we made a cake in his honor and sang happy birthday to the man himself, obviously he wasn’t in the room since he lives on Sesame Street, but we felt he was with us in spirit :)

Elmo

Everybody should celebrate Elmo’s birthday.

If a celebration can be made from a prediction from a ground hog then I think Elmo’s birthday should be a national holiday celebrated around the world, everyone could have the day off dedicated to the cutest red furry monster on Sesame Street.

He’s looking good for a monster at the ripe old age of 27 oops I mean three-and-a-half years old :)

Monster Years sure are Kind, I think I’ll change to their system of calculating age, by my account I’m three
and three quarter years old LOL.

My Elmo cake that I made in honour of Elmo might not have been the best in the world, it may not of looked anything like Elmo and it tasted too sweet and everyone complained, but it’s the thought that counts. :)

Happy Birthday Elmo, We Love you!

Here are some interesting facts about Elmo for all the die hard fans of Sesame Street.

Elmo had been around since the earlier 1970’s the puppeteers would occasionally pick him up from the closet but non of them could give this cute red Furry monster a personality, not until 1984 when Kevin Clash pick up the cute red monster puppet and gave him life, Elmo was born and he’s been a permanent feature on Sesame Street ever since.

Elmo has been on many talk shows as a guest appearance including appearing on the famous America iconic talk show Oprah. he’s travelled all over the world giving interviews to his fans, I remember listening to radio one in either 2009 /2010.

Elmo is the only non human to be called to testify before the US Congress, he went before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education in April 2002, urging support for increased funding in music education

Elmo has appeared in The West Wing TV show where he, big bird and Zoe where Elmo gets a Check up by Abby Bartlet who played the fictional first lady. Elmo has also starred in a full-length, motion picture called Elmo in Grouchland and a film called Elmo Saves Christmas.

Not everyone is happy with the popularity of Elmo, some Sesame Street traditionalists think because Elmo has got his own 15 minute slot on Sesame Street that Characters such as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, cookie monster, the Count and Grover have been put on the back burner and there roles have been greatly reduced in the program.

Sesame Street traditionalist call Elmo “the Little Red Menace”. What! no way they need to watch Sesame Street more often and learn a lesson in being nice, Elmo could teach them. :)
