We have a female blackbird who has claimed our window box, she keeps chasing other birds away from the food I put out when she visits our garden.

Today she did the strangest thing instead of leaving at dusk to nest down for the night like other blackbirds do, she sat in the window box until it was fully dark outside strangest behaviour I’ve ever seen? she was in the window box hours we thought she was planning on staying the night, but she left in total darkness my son snapped a photo of her though the window. She normally flies away when we go to the window, but this evening she just cocked her head at us and didn’t seem bothered. I’m totally bewildered by this female blackbirds behaviour? Cool though our son was mesmerized watching her :-) .
