Went to a pub for the first time in my adult life at 35 years of age, I’ve never been in one before.

We went to a family pub in Ingoldmells, there was some free entertainment for families on, so we thought we’d give it a go to see what it would be like (you can never complain at free entertainment :-) )

I’ve been in a pub when I was a child a couple of times with my friends families, but only ever got as far as a family room or garden, this was my first experience inside a pub, I’ve never been in a night club.

My parents didn’t drink and never went to the pub and I don’t see the point of them, I’ve never understood the concept of drinking. I’ve tried alcohol I drank alcohol when I was 15 when friends who would steal it from there parents drinks cabinet and we would conceal it in a pop bottle mixed with cola cola, kids hey :-) .

I just never really liked drinking it’s just not me I prefer a smoothie or a milkshake tastes nicer :-) .

Another reason I didn’t go to pubs in the past was the smoking, I don’t like cigarette smoke so I tend to avoid it, but now that the smoking ban as been in effect for so time in the UK in all enclosed places it means we can go spread our wings and can now enjoy many things that was denied us like pubs, arcades and theatres etc…

The pub was OK, still not sure pubs are my scene though, I like my fun to be natural where you can let off some steam and have fun without alcohol trying new and exciting stuff that get your adrenalin pumping, sitting still has never been easy for me, I wanted to get up and dance in the pub, but the very small dance floor had little kids on it and I was afraid I’d tread on one and hurt them, so I had to stay in my seat and just watch which was boring :-(

Our son is 13 so he was a little to old to go on the dance floor with his mum and little kids, so I sat in my chair swaying until I couldn’t take not being able to dance and we went home.

I have to say I can understand why people drink in pubs the boredom is enough to drive anyone to drink :-) My fun comes from concerts, theatre shows and festivals pubs aren’t active enough for me I think personally I would need a cross between a family pub and a night club for adults in that you can dance and everyone there drinks sensibly and not just to get bladed for the sake of it, but pubs like that don’t really exist :-(

It wasn’t that bad and we will probably go again if they have anymore family entertainment on that we want to see in the future.

The bottle of pineapple pop we all had was OK for me and my son, but the juice played havoc on my hubbies mouth ulcer though.

Funny thing is my Hubby was the most optimistic about going that night yet I’d say I ended up enjoying it more than he did he looked so Bord bless him :-)

Glad we went.
